Bring a number of like-minded people together, and you’ve got a great opportunity for sponsors to reach a coveted audience.

Top 10 Social Media Tips for Business September 25, 2014

Whether you work at a large corporation or own a small business, your company should be utilizing social media. Everyone is on it. And even if every single person is not on it, your target consumer probably is. In my opinion, here are the most important tips that you need to know.

Creating Responsive Images

Responsive Design: Creating Responsive Images September 25, 2014

About a year ago, I programmed my first ever responsive website. I had heard of and seen them in action, but I never actually made one myself. It definitely was, and still is, a learning experience. My first few sites had some clunky and less than elegant responsive solutions in them. But in the past year, I’ve learned lots of tricks that make responsive sites easy to build and wanted to share.

Showing Dedication to Marketing September 24, 2014

Like anything worth doing in life, successful content marketing doesn’t just happen—you’ve got to put in the effort. More than this, you’ve got to have a strategy. Good intentions alone will not bring attention to your business or organization.

So, how'd your internship go? (Part 2) September 22, 2014

So! Part two (Here's part one if you haven't read it yet)!

My internship started a week after school ended and I planned to stay until the week before school started. Four days a week, from 9 to 4. I didn't have any super big plans for summer so my goal was to focus on my personal creative work and learning as much as I can in the "real" design field. Those Seinfeld-era websites may be long gone, but some companies and organizations still behave as if that’s all their websites are for: to be static placeholders for information.

So, how'd your internship go? (Part 1)

So, how'd your internship go? (Part 1) September 15, 2014

This is a question that I've been getting a lot lately from family, friends and curious underclassmen. So! Here's my little blog post about my internship with 4x3 :) I have a lot I wanna talk about, so I'll be splitting this post into two parts. This part will be about how I found it, and next will be about the internship and what I've learned from it.

Flashback to December 2013. I think the question in most, if not all, the junior design majors' minds was: "Where the heck am I going to get an internship???"

Searching for the Big Blue Toy Monster September 9, 2014

The thing about search engine optimization is ... if you are capable of sound reasoning that is ... it all makes perfect logical sense. 4x3 does it. We really do understand it.

The Odessa Brewfest: What a Weekend! September 8, 2014

The 1st Annual Odessa Brewfest was a huge success in my book. The festival fulfilled its promise—great beer, food and music in a beautiful setting with lots of positive vibes and a party atmosphere. It was a truly unique event and a great fundraiser for the Historic Odessa Foundation

Reflecting on Surfside Sevens September 3, 2014

After Surfside Sevens Stone Harbor, it’s no surprise that the following of our Instagram grew. It’s also no surprise that primarily youth ruggers were clicking the follow button. Business Insider reports that “over 90% of the 150 million people on Instagram are under the age of 35.”
